June 20 - 28, 2012 Royal Touch (A fun way to learn Social Etiquette) The great artistic fervour, in Sicily, since the middle age, was linked above all to the main aristocratic families who favoured lively circulation of up-to-date intellectuals and artists. So, understanding Sicilian culture must pass through the knowledge of the aristocratic way of life. From the rare and fine Medieval vestiges to the show of Baroque churches and mansions, from the frontierless skill of its chisellers to the liveliness of Art Nouveau, Sicily still preserves all the signs of its glorious past. Day 1, A evening with Shanna Arrival at Palermo airport in the late morning. Transfer to the hotel by de-luxe private coach and settling in the room. Lunch at the hotel. Take a short rest in the afternoon, at 5pm the “Social Etiquette” class begin at Palazzo Francavilla Pecoraro, follow by a formal dinner at 9pm. Day 2, Welcome Gala Dinner In the morning, visit at churches in the old side of Palermo: S. Caterina and Martorana along with Piazza Pretoria with its fountain and the famous Quattro Canti crossroad. Take a quick walk through the old market “La Vucciria”, a lunch at the ‘Antica Focacceria’ (the focaccia is a kind of Italian Pizza). In the afternoon a visit to the Oratories where the works of the famous Sicilian sculptor Serpotta—namely, S. Cita, S. Domenico, S. Lorenzo and S. Francesco will be privately open for our guests. Take a rest at hotel. In the evening welcome Gala Dinner at 9:00pm at the Baroque Palazzo Raffadali, to taste the “Leopard’s Dinner”, hosted by the Prince and Princess Raffadali Day 3, The Castle After breakfast, go around Palermo. With private visits to some of the most fascinating monuments, not usually opened to the public, such as the Baron’s Hall at Steri, the museums of Palazzo Mirto, the church of Lo Spasimo and Palazzo Abatellis. Transfer to Solanto, where lunch will be provided in the Castle, one of the oldest tuna processing stations in Sicily, tasting dishes based on tuna recipes. Lunch will host by the aristocratic owners; the Prince and Princess San Vincenzo. In the afternoon, the group is going to visit some of Baroque Villas in Bagheria such as the Villa Palagonia with the terrifying Monsters. Sculptures and paintings. Back to Palermo and evening free. Day 4, the Saltpans After breakfast, first departure to Segesta to admire a Greek Theater and a Greek Temple, then to the Punic site of Motya, on the little island of St. Pantaleo, off Marsala. The group will go to Motya by boat in a short and amusing way. In the afternoon, visit the one of famous wine factories, producing the excellent Marsala wine. Wine tasting. Lunch at the Cantine Florio, Back to Palermo and evening free. Day 5, Seaside Dinner In the morning a visit to the ‘Palazzina Cinese’ (a small palace built in a typical Chinese style) and to Palazzo Niscemi. After Lunch, group shopping in Palermo. Take a rest at the hotel. At "Circolo Della Vela" an exclusive yacht club, a " Seaside Dinner" will be hosted by the program designer Shanna Wu Pecoraro. Day 6, Transfer to Milan After breakfast, the group will checkout from the hotel. Transfer to the airport and head to Milan. Settle in hotel and have an afternoon leisure shopping in the most famous fashion districts of Via Montenapoleone, Via Andrea, Via Gesu, Via Borgospesso and Via della Spiga. Lunch and Dinner will be a free choice. Day 7, Milan shopping After breakfast, the group will have a whole day to discover in Milan shopping. Get a step ahead of your fashionista and buy your next season wardrobe from the fashion capital - Milan.
